Q1: What are the Sugar Land
Citizen's Police Academy Classes?
A1: This exciting and free 10 week class for those who live or work in Sugar Land, gives an insight to what it is like to be a Sugar Land Police Officer.
Although there is no obligation to volunteer to help, if you complete the class, you may wish to join SLCPAAA or SLCPAAA and CAST (see Q3-Q6 below) and become part of these volunteer teams.

Q3: What is SLCPAAA?
A3: The Sugar Land Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association 'SLCPAAA' is an organization formed to enhance relations between the community and the Sugar Land Police Department.

Q4: How do I join SLCPAAA?
A4: First complete the Academy Class (see Q2 above), then submit an application and fee,
and after a background check, you will be notified if your application is approved.
Q5: What is CAST?
A5: The Community Assistance Support Team is a citizen volunteer program which directly supports the Sugar Land Police Department.

Q6: How do I join CAST?
A6: If you are a member in good standing of the SLCPAAA (see Q2,Q4 above), you may apply to join CAST. After further background checks, you will be notified if your application is approved.
Q6: When and where do the meetings take place?
A7: Meetings are held at the Sugar Land Police Department in the training room on the second Tuesday of each month.
